CLD Instructional ApproachesAccording to Socorro G. Herrera and Kevin G. Murry, three dominant approaces to second language instruction include the grammatical approach, the communicative approach, and the cognitive approach. The approach that a teacher chooses to take in his or her classroom determines the methods, strategies and techniques that he or she will use as well (2016). Most teachers probably find that they actually use a variety of approaches, depending on the specific lesson and class which they are teaching.
