learning environment impact The way that a student feels in a specific class can have a great impact on how that student learns in that class. According to Bryan Goodwin and Elizabeth Ross Hubbell, in the book The 12 Touchstones of Good Teaching, helping students to feel safe in a classroom lies in the teacher interacting with every student in a meaningful way to create a bond or connection.Ways to create this bond include greeting every student as he or she enters teh classroom, calling on students by name, using noverbal as well as verbal communication, and planning interaction time into class lessons (2013, p. 82-83). If a student does not feel comfortable and safe in a teacher's classroom, his performance will be guarded, and possibly, he will not reach his full potential.
