Measuring Understanding against high expectationsThis section of Goodwin and Hubbell's book discusses the beginning of the letter grade and how quickly professors at Harvard decided that teachers had started giving A's and B's too often and for work that did not deserve the marks. The authors also cite a number of surveys which seem to prove that student's grades continue to rise but their learning does not. The authors then give suggestions to help teachers keep from adding to these statistics (2013).
