Use feedback to encourage effortGoodwin and Hubbell use one of many young people's favorite pastimes to show the impact of feedback. They quote education technologist Mark Prensky who believes that the continuous feedback given during play makes video game addictive to young people (2013, p. 90). The authors do caution, however, that though feedback can have one of the greatest effects on student learning, teachers must be careful that they are giving the correct kind of feedback as some feedback has more negative impact than positive (2013, p. 91).
